KCW celebrates completion of Baltimore housing redevelopment with community.
The Brentwood’s new exterior is just as vibrant as its future. The celebration of the 15-story, affordable housing complex brought bright faces to hear from esteemed guests involved in the project. Guests included The Honorable Mayor Catherine Pugh, Secretary Kenneth Holt of the MDHCD, and Marilyn Melkonian of Telesis Corporation.
Established in the 1970s, The Brentwood held incredible character before the redevelopment, and now has an aesthetic to match. Before and after photos showcased the transformation created by redevelopment with the right vision. The Brentwood’s renovation team strategized to ensure current tenants could keep their homes. Through focused redevelopment, previous tenants were welcomed to their familiar homes with a restored liveliness and comfort.
Having worked with Telesis Corporation on the homes at North Barclay, KCW was proud to be involved on a project that helps revitalize a building and community that has stood in Baltimore for over 40 years. KCW provided zoning and analysis, historical record research, regrading, and a site plan for the project. We also provided the pre-construction ALTA survey and topography, as well as a post-construction ALTA survey. Events like this, reminds us why we do the work we do; we see the effect in real developments, real neighborhoods and real lives.
We look forward to continuing our redevelopment work to renew and enliven Baltimore communities. Read about more of our redevelopment projects!
